Easter – A New Beginning

resurrectionHappy Easter!

I’ve been praying a lot lately and I’ve been moved by the holy spirit…

If you’re a regular reader you’ll notice that I post about my faith from time to time. A few years ago my husband and I attended a Cursillo retreat and our eyes were opened to what our faith truly is. I’ll spare you the details of how that came about but the result is that we’ve made a conscious effort to center our lives around Christ.

It was the decision that changed our lives. We put our trust in God where we once thought we had control. We even centered our business around our faith. It seemed that all our actions were turning to the Lord and I started feeling more and more disconnected with my blog because it barely reflected that change. Every time I wanted to post something on my mind, I’ve stopped myself to think, “is this too faith-y?” and decide against it. And that really stinks.

Catholics believe that God is loving and that everything he creates bears truth, goodness and beauty. In everything that we do or encounter, we are to seek what is true, what is good and what is beautiful in order to point our way back to God. (In my opinion, just the thought of that is beautiful!)

So that’s what I’m doing…

So what does this mean for the blog?

I’ll still post crafts, recipes and reviews. I’ll also write a little bit more on my faith as the holy spirit inspires me.

I’m also working on changing the website a bit to make it more mobile-friendly. However, God has blessed us with a lot of work projects (yes, in web design/programming) so it will slowly happen.

In other words, it won’t change too much if you like the crafts and recipes but it will be more faith, more hope, more love.

After all, making a sweet life is about seeking what is true, good, and beautiful.

Since it’s Easter, I’ll leave you with my new favorite song by Matt Maher:
